Why I chose this costume

How I made this costume

This project was started both for my love of the show, and also to repair my dysfunctional relationship with sewing. Overall, it was a reasonably simple project and helped me practice many of the basics needed to build my confidence in order to move on to larger sewn costumes.

Materials used:

- Fabric

- EVA craft foam

- Raffia ribbon

The Hanfu was hand sewn and I took creative license to detail with subtle lace applique. The hat was constructed from EVA foam and covered in raffia ribbon to give it a natural straw look (full tutorial can be found linked below).
