Why I chose this costume

How I made this costume

EPIC the musical took over my brain. 

This project is an original design since there is no official art for the musical. I decided to go with an armored look since I love making armor, using Telemachus' main colors of blue, brown, and gold to accent.

The armor is padded ad sculpted with low density EVA foam and wrapped in leather. The leather was textured and painted, with rivets hammered along the edges for more detailing. 

The spear was a very important addition, made with two tips to fight off the suitors and blessed with Athena's power near the handle. The pole base is a clear acrylic rod with the spear tips carved from foam and wrapped in worbla. The glowing pattern is from an LED strip connected to a portable power bank in the handle. The leaf design was made by cutting out the pattern with the cricut, placing it on the shaft, painting over the full shaft with a thick brown layer, and then pealing off the leaft pattern to allow the light to shine through.
