About this project
Why I chose this costume
Kirishima (Red Riot) as a character means a lot to me, and I ended up doing over 14 variations of his character. His bravery, determination, and sunny disposition were all something I could latch onto during the depressive months of covid. From that love, multiple outfits where created, my favorite of which was a gender bend of his Red Riot Hero form.
How I made this costume
Materials used:
- fabric
- faux leather
- EVA craft foam
- Worbla
- Chains
The shoulder pads, hand bracers, and face mask are both EVA foam, textured and damaged to look like they've gone through a few rough battles.
Fun fact, all the little bolts are actually googly eyes, so I rattle a bit whenever I walk!
The shirt is a bra covered with Worbla with chains and EVA foam added for detailing.
The cape was burnt in places as this character works in close proximity to fire and explosions, and the boots were painted and altered from a thrifted pair.
Lastly the wig was styled in a big up-do to mimic his spikey haired male form, and long nails were added to represent his quirk (superpower) form where his arms and nails harden to points.
